Lefkas has a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The average daytime temperature on Lefkas is 31°C in July and 14°C in January. The annual average temperature is 17°C. In the early and late season, the evenings can be chilly.

The average rainfall on Lefkas is 750 mm per year, divided into about 100 rainy days. The most rain falls in the months of December to February, the least rain in the months of June to August. The average number of sunshine hours is 2,650 per year, with 11 to 12 hours of sunshine per day in the summer months.

Most of the year an eastern wind blows from the mainland of Greece over Lefkas. In August there is a chance of the 'maestros', a northern stormy wind, and the 'sirocco', a warm wind from the southeast.
