Climate and Weather

Daytime temperatures in the summer are around 31°C on average and from May to November it is pleasantly warm with, for example, an average of around 20°C in May. In the middle of the summer, the sun shines eleven to twelve hours a day and even in December, the average is three hours of sunshine a day. The water temperature is about 19 °C in May, 25 °C in August and 23 °C in October. January and February are the coldest months, with 16°C during the day and 9°C at night and a water temperature of 15°C. There is even a chance of frost and snow then.

It rains regularly on Corfu, even in the summer months of July and August, making Corfu the wettest place in Greece. The driest month is July with an average of two rainy days. Much rain falls in the period from November to March, averaging 7-12 days per month. In winter, cold winds sometimes blow from the northeast and south.
