Climate and Weather
Zakynthos has a Mediterranean climate with mild, wet winters and warm, dry summers. The annual average temperature in the months of July and August is 31°C; in January the average daytime temperature is still around 14°C. The sun shines on average 2700 hours on Zakynthos.
The annual rainfall on Zakanthos is about 650 mm, divided into 90 days with precipitation. The wettest months are December and January, but July and August also have a few rainy days.
Usually an east wind blows over Zakynthos from the mainland. In August, there is a chance of the Maestros, a northerly stormy wind, and the Sirocco, a very warm wind from the southeast. The spring and early autumn is a good time to visit Zakynthos.
