Climate and Weather
Skopelos has a Mediterranean climate with mild, rainy winters with occasional snowfall, rainy springs, dry, hot summers and a cool autumn. Even in summer, there may be the occasional refreshing shower. Summers are therefore hot, but because of the many forests, it is always possible to avoid the worst of the heat. In August, the north-eastern Meltemi often blows and then it cools down considerably at night.
The hottest months are July (average temperature 24°C) and August, the coldest month is January (average temperature 7°C). The average annual temperature is 16.2 °C. Most rain falls in the period September-February and the average annual rainfall is about 750 mm. On average, precipitation falls on 85 days. The driest month is July, the wettest months are December and January. Skopelos has about 2000 hours of sunshine per year and a relative humidity of 62.5% in June and 79.3% in November.
