Economy
Rhodes has to import many products, of which only 20% come from Greece itself. Much of it comes from countries in the European Union and from the United States. Agriculture and industry are of marginal importance to the economy of Rhodes. The population of Rhodes lives mainly from tourism and related industries such as construction. After a weak economic period due to the credit crisis, the economy of Rhodes is recovering. This is mainly due to the increase in the number of tourists visiting Rhodes.
