Climate and Weather
The islands of the Dodecanese group have a Mediterranean climate. Characteristic are the cool winters and dry summers. Precipitation falls in the winter and early spring. In the summer, a constant north-eastern wind blows which can sometimes be strong to stormy. This wind is known in Greece as the Meltemi. The temperature in Kos is very pleasant in spring and in autumn. In the winter it is never very cold. In the summer, the temperatures are between 30 and 40 degrees Celsius during the day.
