Population

The island of Naxos has about 25,000 residents, of which about 7300 live in the capital Naxos Town (2017). Due to the size of Naxos (approx. 450 km2), the island is relatively sparsely populated.

In particular, the eastern side of the island is very sparsely populated, with most people living on the west coast.
