Population
Lesbos has a population of about 85,000, and about 36,000 of these live in the capital Mytilene. (2017) There are also many temporary residents living on Lesvos. Because Lesbos is close to Turkey, many refugees arrive here. Camp Moira is poorly known it hosts around 15,000 refugees in often deplorable conditions.
