The average annual temperature is 18.3°C.

The average annual rainfall on Lesbos is 620 mm, distributed over approximately 80 rainy days. Most rain falls in the winter months of December and January.

Lesbos is a very sunny island with about 3040 hours of sunshine per year.

The most sun of course is in the summer months of June, July and August. In Lesbos, the Meltemi, which blows from the north, blows regularly, a breeze that sometimes provides much-needed, pleasant cooling. Lesvos has been known since ancient times for the so-called "alkyonid days", warm sunny days in the middle of winter.
