Economy

The economy of Skiathos is mainly based on agriculture, especially olive cultivation, for which the approximately 600,000 olive trees on the island are used. Good quality and tasty wines are bottled in Skiathos. Tourism is increasingly important to the Skiathos economy and is the main source of income on the island.
