Population

Fuerteventura has about 128,000 inhabitants (2024), of whom about 44,000 live in the capital Puerto del Rosario.

The islanders, also called 'Majoreros', are descendants of the Spaniards, the Normans and the ancient Canarians, the Guanches. These three ethnic groups have mixed with each other over the years.
