Climate and Weather

Due to the levelling effect of the sea and the trade winds that keep the cold at bay, Fuerteventura's climate is pleasant and fairly constant. Nevertheless, the winters can be changeable, with unpleasantly cool days.

In summer, on the other hand, the hot, dusty sirocco can blow over the island from the Sahara. Temperatures can then rise by as much as 10°C to over 40°C in a short period of time.

Fuerteventura has the least rainy days of all the Canary Islands. The highest rainfall is from November to February, but in general Fuerteventura has more than 300 sunny days per year.
