Monaco is home to 30,645 people (2017), making it the most densely populated country in the world with more than 15,000 inhabitants per km2.
Remarkably, the 32% native Monegasques are a minority in their own country. The rest are foreigners, who are drawn to Monaco mainly because of the favourable tax climate. Currently, more and more people from the financial world and stars from the music and sports world are coming to live in Monaco.
