Micronesia is almost entirely Christianised. Spanish Catholic missionaries converted the Mariana Islands and the western islands. Protestants from New England, USA, converted the Marshall Islands and the eastern islands. Chuuk, Nauru, Kiribati and Pohnpei have roughly equal numbers of Catholics and Protestants.

About 90% of the Chamorro population on Guam is staunchly Roman Catholic. The Roman Catholic faith continues to have a major influence on the island's culture, from Guam's intransigent anti-abortion law to the village festivals that always take place around the church.

There are also small groups of Baptists, Episcopalians, Baha'i followers, Lutherans, Mormons, Presbyterians, Jehovah's Witnesses, and members of the Church of Christ and Seventh-day Adventists.
