The climate is tropical and humid. In Havana, the temperature ranges from 9 to 41; in July the average temperature is 27.7, in January 21.3. The rainy season lasts from May to November and is characterised by violent thunderstorms. It does not rain all day: every day around 6 p.m., there is a heavy downpour that lasts about half an hour. The cooler dry season is not entirely without rain. The average annual rainfall is 1270 mm. Hurricanes sometimes occur. The best time to travel is therefore from November to April-May.
