Venezuela is also known for its natural beauty. There are a number of national parks that are worth a visit. The most famous are the Canaima National Park, which is located in the southeast of Venezuela. The giant armadillo and the two-toed sloth are permanent residents of this park. You will also find the Angel Falls here, which are the highest waterfalls in the world with a height of more than 970 meters. The falls can be visited by boat or by plane.

The Sierra de San Luís National Park is located south of Coro. The national park extends over an area of 20,000 hectares. You will find the largest underground lake in the country, la Cueva del Río Acarite. The park is covered with cloud forests and you can find many different types of animals and plants. A special resident is the mountain cat.
