Vacations and Sightseeing
The natural beauty is Utah's biggest attraction. Utah has no less than five national parks, Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef and Zion. These parks have spectacular landscapes. The multicoloured, jagged rock formations are well known. Around the Great Salt Lake, cave drawings of Indians can be found. There are many national monuments in Utah. The best known are: Cedar Breaks, Dinosaur, Grand Staircase-Escalante, Hovenweep, Natural Bridges, Rainbow Bridge and Timpanogos Cave.
Partly because the Winter Olympics were held in Salt Lake City in 2002, Utah's fame as a winter sports destination is growing. Important ski resorts are Park City, Beaver Mountain and Deer Valley. Utah's powder snow is world famous and also makes the area interesting for snowboarders.
Salt Lake City is the city of the Mormons. You will find many attractions here such as Temple Square with the Tabernacle. But Salt Lake City also has other attractions, such as the Hogle Zoo, a planetarium, an art museum and many good shopping opportunities.
