Climate and Weather
Liechtenstein has a transitional climate (maritime-land climate) with cold and cloudy winters with much snow and rain and moderately warm, humid summers.
In the winter, it rarely freezes below -15 °C (coldest month is January) and in the summer months, the daytime temperatures average between 20 and 28 °C (warmest month is July).
Of great influence on the climate is the föhn, a warm southern wind that blows approx. 40 days a year. Especially in the month of October, but also in the winter, this wind temporarily causes higher temperatures than normal.
On average, Liechtenstein has between 900 and 1200 mm of precipitation per year. In the mountains, however, precipitation can reach 1900 mm.
