Hawaii (English: Hawaii, Hawaiian: Hawai?i) is the fiftieth state of the United States of America. Its capital city is Honolulu. The state has 1.5 million inhabitants (2017). Only 21 percent of the population is wholly or partly Hawaiian. The remaining residents are Indo-European (22 percent), Japanese (18 percent), Filipino (13 percent), Hispanic (7 percent) and Chinese (3 percent).
Language
The official language of Hawaii is English. Japanese, Filipino and several other languages are also spoken.
Religion
Christianity and Buddhism are the two largest religions in Hawaii. There are also followers of Bahai, Islam and many other religions.
