Climate and Weather

Guam has a fairly even climate; it is generally warm and humid throughout the year. Daytime temperatures range from 22°C to 30°C. The average rainfall is about 2500 mm per year.

The best time to visit Guam is during the dry season (about 114 mm per month) which lasts from January to the end of April when the trade winds, which blow from east to north-east all year round, are strongest. Humidity is also lower during this season. In the second half of the year, the likelihood of typhoons or tropical storms is greatest. In 1997, Guam was hit by typhoon Paka. It destroyed 8,000 houses and 2,000 buildings in whole or in part.
