Comoros is a group of tropical islands and essentially an "off the beaten track" destination with very few other tourists. There are flight connections between the three islands of Grande Comore, Anjouan and Moheli. You can visit local villages or wander through the old quarter of the capital, Moroni, with its narrow streets and intricately carved wooden doors. You will meet a people that rarely come into contact with tourists. You can relax on beautiful beaches or swim among turtles, whales and dolphins. If you're feeling a little more energetic, climb the imposing volcano of Mt Karthala for a spectacular sunrise over the paradise island. And best of all, you probably have it all to yourself.
