Climate and Weather
Pemba has a tropical climate, with the heat being tempered by an almost constant sea breeze. The annual maximum temperature is 34°C; the annual minimum temperature is 17°C. On Pemba, it is generally slightly cooler and rains a little more than on Zanzibar Island.
Most rain falls between December and May; total annual average rainfall is 1800 mm. In the west, short, heavy showers occur throughout the year.
