Vacations and Sightseeing
An important source of income is tourism. Most tourists come from Japan.
Saipan is the most important tourist destination in the archipelago and offers a magnificent array of natural attractions. North Saipan is rich in natural beauty and historical sites with limestone caves connected to the open ocean by underwater passages and a number of memorials dedicated to the soldiers who gave their lives during World War II. Central Saipan is home to the stunningly landscaped American Memorial Park. The south of the island boasts beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters as well as the Saipan Botanical Garden. A trip to Saipan would not be complete without a visit to the immaculate Managaha Island. This island is easily accessible for day trips. A top attraction is an underwater adventure aboard a real submarine. Visitors can take a 45-minute excursion 30 metres below the surface of Saipan's lagoon in a real submarine. It is safe for the whole family and you will see tropical fish and other animals that you would otherwise only see in an aquarium.
