Ulaanbaatar is the capital of Mongolia and is centrally located in the country. Ulaanbaatar has some very attractive sights such as Sukhbaatar Square with a statue of historical significance. Also in Ulanbaatar is the popular Choijin Lama Monastery which is considered sacred ground by Buddhists. There are museums on the history of Ulanbaatar and the National Museum of Mongolian History, not forgetting the opera for the music lovers.
Bayan Zag is known as the Flaming Rock. It is a seminal rock formed by reddish-brown deposits. This tourist spot is best viewed early in the morning or just before the sun sets. At these times, the effect is maximum and the cliffs light up like giant burning coals.
