Population composition:
The population of Macau is mainly made up of Chinese. They make up around 90 per cent of the total population. In addition, the population consists of Macanese, which are people with mixed Portuguese-Chinese blood, Portuguese and others.
Language
The languages spoken in Macau are Chinese, Portuguese and English.
Religion
The Chinese population is mainly Buddhist (50%). There are also Taoists and Confucians. There is also a Roman Catholic community (15%) and smaller Muslim and Hindu communities.
