The population of Equatorial Guinea is just over 778,385 (2017).

The population density is approximately 28 inhabitants per square kilometre.

Mortality rate per 1000 inhabitants is 7.8 (2017)
Life expectancy is 64.6 years. (men 63.4 and women 65.8 years (2017)

There are several tribes living in Equatorial Guinea, such as the Fang, Kombé, Balengue, Bujeba and Ndowé. The Fang is the largest tribe on the mainland; about 85% of the population belongs to it. The original inhabitants of Bioko are the Bubi, but they have greatly decreased in number. There are less than 100 Europeans living in Equatorial Guinea, the majority from Spain.

Language

Spanish and French are the official languages of Equatorial Guinea. Pidgin English, Fang and Bubi are also spoken.

Religion

The inhabitants of Equatorial Guinea are mainly Christian (mainly Catholic) or practice indigenous religions.
