The population consists of 100 different nationalities. Approximately half of the population originates from the Cayman Islands The Cayman Islands have a total of over 58,441 (2017) inhabitants. Gran Cayman is home to by far the most people, Cayman Brac to about 1,250 and Little Cayman to only 125. The majority of the population is descended from African slaves. Furthermore, English, Jamaicans, Americans and Canadians live on the islands.
Language
The official language of the Cayman Islands is English. Furthermore, a little more than 3% of the population speaks Spanish
Religion
The population on the islands is almost entirely Christian. Many islanders are members of the Anglican Church. There are also Roman Catholics, Methodists and Presbyterians.
