Konakli
Fancy a wonderful holiday in the sun, but not the massiveness that characterizes places like Bodrum and Antalya? Then choose a holiday in Konakli! Konakli is still a real village. The area is rural and there are numerous authentic farms in the region. Alanya with all its attractions is also close by and places such as Antalya with many historical sights are not far away. The main road connecting Alanya and Konakli is right in the center, so it won't take you long to get there. On the other hand, the need to leave here is not that great, because Konakli also has a lot to offer.

As mentioned, Alanya is not far, about 10 kilometers to the east, while on the west side is the beautiful town of Manavgat with the tourist Side next to it. To the north is the Taurus Mountains, with peaks of up to 3000 meters. The airport of Alanya is nearby, about half an hour's drive.
Weather
The weather is one of the things that makes Turkey so nice and Konakli is no different. There is a wonderful Mediterranean subtropical climate, which means that the summers are wonderfully warm and the winters mild. Between May and October you are guaranteed of temperatures well above 20 and maybe 30 degrees. You hardly ever have to worry about rain and the water temperature is ideal. After November, the weather is generally not ideal for a beach holiday. It doesn't get really cold, but baking on the beach is no longer an option. It takes until April before you can count on nice beach temperatures again.

History
Konakli is not an important city historically, but nevertheless has a long history. The town was founded as Sarapsa around 1100. The then Seljuk Sultan built a road to connect Alanya with Konya, which was the capital of the Seljuk Empire at the time. This new important trade route made it attractive to build a settlement here and so Sarapsa came about. After several centuries the name was changed to Telatiye and after the name was changed to Konakli it became a municipality in 1992. It is with the rise of tourism from the 1980s that the city has acquired its current status as a tourist attraction. Konakli itself mainly offers a relaxed atmosphere, a pleasant center and wonderful tranquility. For the attractions it is not necessary to travel far, because as mentioned Alanya is close by. Alanya, for example, houses several museums. There is an archaeological museum where unique remains of the Ottoman Empire can be admired and the Atatürk house where the great Turkish leader stayed for a while. However, the absolute top attraction of Alanya is the castle. This unique structure towers about 250 meters above the city with its location on a peninsula and covers an area of about 6 kilometers in total.
