Lome is the capital of Togo. With a population of over a million, it is the largest city in Togo. Lome is situated on a sandy beach and is known for its bustling market. Other tourist attractions in Lome are the National Museum, the Voodoo market and the German Catholic Church. There are also a number of historical buildings to see.
Lac Togo lies 30 km east of Lome, Togo's beautiful lake is a paradise for nature lovers. The village of Togo Hupang is authentic. Its main attractions are the Catholic Church and the King Mu Lapa Palace.
The Valley of Tamberma, northeast of Kande consists of a remarkable collection of fortified villages dating from the 17th century. Originally built by people fleeing the slave traders. The houses are made of clay, straw and wood with only a small entrance door. Because of the isolated location, much of the old culture and traditions have been preserved.
