The population of Togo is 7,965,055 (2017). The population density is about 140 inhabitants per square kilometre.
There are 37 ethnic groups distinguishable in Togo; the largest are the Ewe (32%) and the Mina (6%) in the south, the Kabre (22%), the Kotokoli (6%) and the Moba (5%) in the north and centre.
