Population composition:
The population consists of numerous ethnic groups. The most important are the Punjabi, Sindhi, Pathans, Baloch and Muhajir.
Language
The main language is Urdu (national and official) and English (official). Other languages spoken include Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashtu and Baloch.
Religion
The majority of the population is Muslim (96%), of which 80% is Sunni and 20% Shiite. There are also small minorities (Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Parsis and Ahmadis).
