Population

North Korea has a population of 26,300,000 (2024). The population density is about 220 inhabitants per square kilometre.

Population composition:

The population is racially extremely homogeneous and consists of Koreans. There is a very small Chinese community and some ethnic Japanese.

Language

Korean is spoken in North Korea.

Religion

North Korea has traditionally had followers of Buddhism, Shamanism, Chondoism and Christianity. In the practice of the communist regime, there is little room for the practice of these religions.
