Population composition:
The population is divided into more than 20 tribes and indigenous groups.
Language
Officially, the language is Portuguese, and several indigenous languages are also spoken.
Religion
More than 50% of the population practise an indigenous religion. About 30% are Christian and about 20% are Muslim.
