73.2% of the population is Kyrgyz. Uzbeks (14.6%) and Russians (5.8%) make up the largest minority groups. In addition, Germans, Koreans, Tatars, Dungan and others live there.


Kyrgyzstan has two official languages, Kyrgyz and Russian.


About 75% of the population is Muslim. The Russian population is Orthodox ( 20%).
