Kyrgyzstan has a population of 5,789,122 million (2017). The population density is about 30 inhabitants per square kilometre.

Birth rate per 1000 inhabitants is 22.1 (2017)
Death rate per 1000 inhabitants is 6.5 (2017)
Life expectancy is 70.9 years. (men 66.8 and women 75.4 years (2017)

73.2% of the population is Kyrgyz. Uzbeks (14.6%) and Russians (5.8%) make up the largest minority groups. In addition, Germans, Koreans, Tatars, Dungan and others live there.

Language

Kyrgyzstan has two official languages, Kyrgyz and Russian.

Religion

About 75% of the population is Muslim. The Russian population is Orthodox ( 20%).
