Kyrgyzstan has a population of 6,171,100 (2024). The population density is about 27 inhabitants per square kilometre.

73.8% of the population is Kyrgyz. Uzbeks (14.8%) and Russians (5.1%) make up the largest minority groups. In addition, Germans, Koreans, Tatars, Dungan and others live there.

Language

Kyrgyzstan has two official languages, Kyrgyz and Russian.

Religion

About 75% of the population is Muslim. The Russian population is Orthodox ( 20%).
