Vacations and Sightseeing
Tourism is still in its infancy. In recent years, some hotels have been built, better travel connections realised and some attractions developed. At present, Greenland attracts about 15,000 visitors annually, many of whom are visiting Greenland for business. The aim is to increase that number to 30,000. Greenland is an excellent country for walking. However, there are not many facilities and it might be a good idea to hire a guide. The capital Nuuk is the tourist centre of Greenland. Here you will also find the national museum. There are several Danish and Greenlandic masterpieces on display, but the museum's collection also includes archaeological finds and historical information and objects. Another special activity is to view the ice fjords from a boat. Sometimes the whales of the Atlantic Ocean show themselves during this boat trip. Read more on the Nuuk page.
