San Salvador is the capital of El Salvador. San Salvador is a modern city and the second largest city in Central America. San Salvador has many palaces and museums from the time of the old rulers. The Teatro Nacional de El Salvador is the largest theatre in Central America. The National Palace, the cathedral, the Monument to the Saviour of the World, the Presidential House and the Monument to Freedom are other historical sites of the city.
Punta Roca is 40 minutes from San Salvador. Many tourists come from San Salvador to spend a day here. Punta Roca attracts surfers because of its fine waves; beginners can book surfing lessons. Boards can be rented at the beach. When not surfing, you can sunbathe and watch the amazing antics of the surfers. Without a doubt, Punta Roca is one of the main tourist attractions in El Salvador.
El Imposible is a national park established in 1989. The name comes from the dangerous gorge that cost the lives of many coffee transporters. El Imposible is partially developed and has marked hiking trails that run through tropical rainforest and mountainous areas. It offers a great way to discover the local flora and fauna.
