Population

Zimbabwe is home to 13,805,084 people (2017). The population density is about 35 inhabitants per square kilometre.

Population composition:

The population is almost exclusively (99.4%) of African origin (Shona, Ndebele). The rest are of European origin or consist of Asians and coloureds.

Language

Officially, the language is English. But the population mainly speaks Shona and Ndebele. Numerous local languages and dialects are also spoken.

Religion

In Zimbabwe, the majority of believers are Christians (±55%). Furthermore, there are many mixed forms with indigenous religions or purely indigenous religions.
