Vacations and Sightseeing
Sudan is the largest country in Africa, but it receives the smallest number of international visitors. There are travel restrictions due to the ongoing conflict in various parts of Sudan.
Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, is located at the confluence of the Blue and White Niles. The main tourist attractions here are the Omdurman camel market, the Arab souk and the National Museum. The most important excavations are located along the Nile, such as the famous pyramids of Meroe, which are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This ancient city is one of the top tourist spots in Sudan. The city is located on the eastern side of the bank of the Nile. There are about two hundred pyramids scattered around the site.
The Red Sea, with its super clear water and variety of fish and the charm of its coral reefs, is one of the main attractions of Sudan. There are many tour operators that specialise in diving trips.
