The 2010 earthquake dealt a big blow to tourism in Haiti. Please consult the advice of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before considering a trip to Haiti. A number of sights were also badly damaged. The Citadelle La Ferrière is world famous and is sometimes referred to as the eighth wonder of the world. Labadee is one of the most beautiful places in the Caribbean with beautiful beaches with white sand.
The National Carnival is a very colourful festival that lasts for 3 days. Petion-Ville is a beautiful city known for its restaurants and its beautiful colonial-style houses, clubs. also have a large population of wealthy whites and mulattos. Jacmel is a big city in Haiti and is known for its amazingly beautiful houses and beaches. Here the Voodoo religion is maintained.
